Newington Historical Society
Newington has had a long interest in its history. In 1948, townspeople voted to turn over the care, management, upkeep and preservation of the Olde Parsonage, so-called, to the Newington Historical Society for a museum.
That year, the Historical Society registered as a non-profit corporation with the State of New Hampshire. Later the Society also registered as a charitable organization with the New Hampshire Charitable Trusts Unit and as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization under the U.S. Internal Revenue Code.
Currently the Historical Society manages the Old Parsonage museum and the Schoolhouse museum in the Old Town Hall and is the repository for all of Newington’s historical archives, photos, documents, and artifacts.
